Surrounded by friends, bamboo and birthday cake, a panda in east China celebrated her birthday on Friday.
Yingmei, the giant panda, had her tenth birthday at the Zhuyuwan Zoo in Jiangsu Province, making her about 35 in human years.
She has lived at the zoo for 12 months and has consumed nine tons of bamboo during her stay, putting on a healthy two kilos.
Children were also invited to feed the panda. Some gave her apple slices, others just sang her a happy birthday.

AN ice-cake, balloons filled with sawdust and a good nap - it was the perfect birthday celebration for giant pandas Wang Wang and Funi.
More than 100 Adelaide Zoo visitors sang Happy Birthday to the pair and covered a giant card with well wishes yesterday.
Wang Wang turns six on Wednesday and Funi turned five last Tuesday and like good mates do, they had a joint party.
Zoo spokeswoman Abby Bowden said the giant pandas delighted in tearing apart papier-mache balloons filled with treats.
“Some were filled with sawdust because they love the texture and rubbing up against it,” she said. Others were filled with “panda cake”, which is part of their regular diet and is made from bamboo.
Their official birthday cake was a multi-layered ice creation held together with bamboo, which they devoured.
